There are multiple things you must take into account if you are a new player to the game
-Are there any seasonal cases in the shop currently?
-Are there any semi-limited cases in the shop currently
-Is there an event going on?
○ If there are any seasonal cases in the shop, going for these first would be your best option. Usually, these cases have high chance godlies allowing for you to get a ton easily.
○ If there are any semi limited cases in the shop (crystal, bluesteel, cosmic), going for these is also a very good option. Usually, adurite glow is the best one of these to go for. Although expensive, it yields the most value and adurite glow is usually very easy to flip for value/downgrade for smalls.
○ If there is an event going on, usually it would be best to unbox the event cases, get the shop items from the event, focus on the battlepass, and last but not least go for the leaderboard. Even if all the other factors are true, events always yield the most value before and after the are in the game. Going for event items is always a good way to gain value, as you could flip event items for old/new divines or simply save them for bigger trades later on.
If none of these are true, your best option is going for a rainbow seer straight away. Although its value is low, you can flip it for robux divines, automatically giving you a higher demand item.
If you have some robux to spare, I recommend getting around 5-10 of the latest robux item, BUT you must make sure that
1. The item has good demand
2. The item has a decent value
3. The item would be easy to trade from the discord server/ingame server hopping
The best robux items are usually the ones that stay on sale for the least amount of time, but getting an event divine every now and then is also good to gain value.
Usually if you have 1k+ value, you have a decent understanding of trading. But what alot of players dont understand is that value does not always equal which items you should trade for.
When trading for items, you should think of 3 factors
-Is this item high value?
-Will this item maintain value later on/rise in value?
-Does this item have good demand and will maintain good demand?
-Is this trade even to the value of the item(s) I am trading or higher?
-Is this personally a trade I want to do with items I am looking for
Here is an example of good trades vs bad trades
This gives you starry night, which will continue to rise in value and also a tier 2 godly effect.
Tier one godlies arent really the best to trade for, especially in bulk.
This is trading shadow king, which isn't the best demand as of recent for dark blade and another Halloween item, both of which have good demand ESPECIALLY dark blade.
Shiny set is currently the worst set of divines in the game. I HEAVILY recommend not trading for them.
Remember, high value items will not always be the best to trade for at there current state in time! The best example of this is sparkle duality, which is currently in a pretty bad state. Its an item thats much better to trade off then to keep, and most people try to stay away from trading for them.
Do not always base your trades off value, or you could end up losing value in the future or end up with an item most people dont want! Always try to gather smaller value items (smalls) and upgrade them for bigger value items.
The best items to trade for right now would be...
-Dark set
-Geode set
-Spring Set
-Brilliant Duality
-Cane Hyper
-Harvest Hyper
-Spring Hyper
-Patriot Hyper
-Rainbow Confetti
Acquiring any of these items for a good deal could potentially land you some good offers in the future.
If you have anything above 5k-10k value, getting good trades should be easier. The best and most obvious method for getting good trades is server hopping multiple times until you find players with good items or a few good smalls. I recommend using the RoPro extension so you can randomize what server you join.
Sometimes, you can get lucky and find players who will be willing to trade higher value items for smalls or underpay. These are obviously the best trades to come across. I myself once traded geode set (full) for patriot hyper, which at the time was underpay by about 250 value, or 450 value depending on if you go off of the overpay amounts.
At this level, its alot better to trade with active traders in the discord server and people you see alot ingame rather then randoms, as randoms will either lowball for yours items, or expect a highball for there items. Its always good to be trading with people who are experienced and understand the value of items, rather then people who will go off of what looks good alone. These people can either be a blessing or a curse when trading.
My best advice is to go for items either a few days after release or immediately after they come out. Immediately after to get potential lowballs on the event items from new players, and a few days to get lowballs from other players who are willing to trade the new items. Always go for higher value items too like RBC, Patriot Hyper, Gold Dragon, and if you have the value for it even comp items!
